Ancestral Journeys

Genealogical research and thoughts

  • David W. Suddarth

Welcome to Ancestral Journeys, my genealogy research blog. Researching one's ancestors is like taking a journey back through time. Each of our ancestors have a story and those stories are waiting to be told. I hope to do that, as well as outline research methods and other information relating to genealogy and family history. Even if we do not share the same ancestry, I hope you will find some of the discussion and ideas of benefit. For my complete profile, click on the 'About' tab at the top of the page.

I am a genealogical and family history researcher, educator, and writer from St. Paul, MN.  Originally from the Chicago area, I have researched my own family’s history for about 20 years and enjoy helping others begin researching their own.

A past member of the Executive Committee of the Minnesota Genealogical Society,  I am also a member of  many other genealogical societies and organizations, including various other state societies, the National Genealogical Society, and the Association of Professional Genealogists.

I have studied Advanced Research and Evidence Analysis at the Institute for Genealogical and Historical Research in Birmingham, Alabama, and am always looking to further genealogical education.
